GABRIELE TRANCHINA
German born vocalist Gabriele Tranchina embodies a
rare combination of European charm and New York style.
She wisely uses her European background and language
skills, performing repertoire consisting of Jazz Standards
as well as Brazilian, Spanish, French and German material.
Her strong stage presence combined with her unique
vocal style, a three-octave range and choice of wonderfully
arranged repertoire, make her an appreciable find.
Her warm and outgoing manner reach audiences of all
ages and backgrounds and as Mike Cook states in his
review: " she can really put a song across."
Her debut album "The Old Country" consists
of rarely heard Jazz Standards and Brazilian tunes.
As Paul Donnelly writes about the album: "Though
this is her solo debut it is clearly one which suggests
that she knows her direction and vocal strengths and
she plays to them. I'm sure we will be hearing more
in the near future."
Tranchina's talents have earned her a place on the
stages of Birdland, the Blue Note, and Lehman Center
for the Performing Arts, among others. In addition
to her work in the Tri-State Area, she has performed
at a number of Jazz Festivals and venues in her native
Germany.
Gabriele's gift for working with children led her
to running a very successful Music Program for Toddlers
and Preschoolers in Manhattan, in operation since
1997.
Clinics, libraries and senior homes love her offerings
of educational and fun filled one-hour Jazz topics.
